As a Managing Member of CIS Communications, LLC, Brick Storts brings the expertise and innovation that continues to drive CIS forward in the industry. He is a licensed real estate broker in both Missouri and Illinois with over 29 years of experience in all facets of commercial, residential and industrial real estate and in-depth expertise in all facets of telecommunications site development.
Mr. Storts started his career in the industry as Project Manager for a prominent Commercial/Industrial Builder in St. Louis working on a variety of commercial and residential projects including a large Bond Issue project for new school construction. He continued on with the real estate arm of the same organization to assist with land assemblage for a variety of new development projects. From there he became a Site Acquisition Representative for Cybertel Cellular/Ameritech, securing sites for MSA and RSA towers in the Missouri-Illinois region. During his tenure he negotiated over sixty multi-year lease agreements, comprising 40% of the towers in the Ameritech wireless system. In 1995 Mr. Storts with two other veteran real estate and development professionals formed CIS Communications, LLC in order to meet the needs of the Sprint Spectrum, L.P. wireless network build out. This task involved supervising site acquisition for over 270 search areas in the St. Louis MTA, aiding in the negotiation of all lease agreements with property owners, conducting zoning presentations to local and regional government officials and managing day to day operations of the CIS staff.
Since the inception of CIS Communications LLC, Mr. Storts has used his real estate, development and construction expertise for a number of wireless industry-related projects including the system build out for Omnipotent/Voicestream/T-Mobile in St. Louis and Illinois, Nextel Communications in St. Louis, Chicago, and Indiana, US Cellular Corporation in Illinois and Missouri, and Sprint Spectrum, L.P. for the St. Louis MTA. He sat on the Board for Vertical Real Estate, Inc. a communication site developer which ultimately sold portions of their portfolio to SBA. In 2005 he formed CIS Realty Group, LLC as a full service commercial, industrial and residential brokerage offering real estate advisory services and easement, and right of way consulting to a variety of industries. He currently owns office buildings and industrial warehousing throughout the St. Louis area. Mr. Storts also formed Zephyr Energy Development, LLC (ZED) to provide real estate and project consulting services to the wind power industry as well as other alternative forms of energy producing infrastructure. ZED has participated on a number of grant related research projects with Missouri S&T on energy projects and composites used in tower construction as a consultant to Dr. K. Chandrashekara regarding the commercialization of new energy infrastructure technology.
