CIS was engaged by AT&T to perform site acquisition services on a major densification project in a large Midwestern MTA for over 50 urban raw land sites located in approximately 25 different zoning/permitting jurisdictions. The goal of the densification project was to increase capacity in areas of the city that had historically been neglected due to the dense residential makeup of the target areas as well as the difficult and complex nature of the permitting jurisdictions.
CIS was able to quickly obtain zoning information for each jurisdiction and identify owners with properties that had feasible pathways to zoning approval, albeit difficult ones. Over the course of the project, CIS successfully negotiated ground/rooftop leases on many properties that had been overlooked in the past, and subsequently obtained zoning/permitting approval on a number of sites that were previously untouchable for AT&T.
